What Is Asbestos?

Asbestos is a natural occurring substance that contains 6 minerals to create the deadly material. There's six commonly seen types of asbestos some being worse then others. I'm sure you think since they are deadly why we're they used as a product. That's due to the fact that the material itself is a great insulator, it's fire-proof and very cheap to produce. The one down fall is that it is highly toxic and can cause lung cancer. When airborne, these tiny fibers can make there way through the raspatory system and into the lungs. With consistent fibers being airborne and taken into the lungs, this can cause a known cancer called mesothelioma.
Where can Asbestos Be Found?

Throughout the mid 1900's asbestos was the material to use. Ofcourse with the information we have now this was clearly not the case. Seeing that asbestos was a great insulator, fire proof and very strong. It was put into many materials.

How Is Asbestos Removed?

Depending on the situation and where the asbestos is the process will be different. Using a broad scope. The start off by accessing the situation and figuring out what needs to be taken out. The second step will be to build our containment and set up the air machines. This step is arguably the most important because this keeps any fibers from spreading to other parts of the house. The third step is the removal. This process is very dirty at the beginning, but as the job goes on and the abatement portion is done, there must be a mass cleaning to assure we leave the job site clean and asbestos free. The final step will be to remove the garbage into a special garbage bin and take down the containment. Non of these steps are ever taken simply, seeing that we are dealing with poisonous substances. At the end of the process you should be left with a clean room ready to be be-built.
